The groundbreaking for my shed/workshop commenced in the fall of 2002. It was finished 365 days later on September 13, 2003. I was the sole architect, general contractor & electrician for the entire construction. In a lamentable twist of fate, my property - along with the new shed - was sold three months after completion. Go figure! A year-long recouping from lingering elbow tendonitis served a terse reminder of my efforts.

Here's the proverbial drawing board. No CAD, just an old fashioned lead pencil. A shed roof was favored given it's simple construction.

Four concrete pillars...what would be more fitting for such a decidedly Herculean effort? Never thought it would take a year to finish.

I was rather proud that the structure was level right to the top, but lost it's squareness (by an inch or so) at the roof line.

Raising 10' frame walls without assistance was real fun. Don't look now, but here comes the chill of autumn...

I should have bought stock in the tarp maker, certainly used enough to fight the elements!

December 21st has arrived, and yet no snow! Daylight was now at a premium...

Winter hibernation. It seemed there was a precipitation event, of one sort or another, every weekend for 5 months. I just had to wait it out.

Ah, summer returns - windows & door installed - and it's on to shingling. No pneumatic tools, but plenty of endless elbow exercise!

Coming down the home stretch! Employed Zar solid stain to protect shingles. Color? What else, Cape Cod grey.

Another view. Hmmm...three ladders? Made for moving the shingle guide quicker. Note the unique "double barreled" scaffold.
